Late Call

Privacy policy

Last updated October 9, 2026

The short version: we don't record your calls. We keep your email, your minutes and a short note of each call so your account works, and characters keep a few lines of memory about you that you can delete at any time. When a safety check is triggered, we keep the line that triggered it. We use no advertising or tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.

Who we are

Late Call is the operating name of the platform and its owning entity, which is responsible for your data (the "controller"). Contact us about privacy at privacy@latecall.app.

Your date of birth is checked and then thrown away; we only keep the result. ID documents, if the age check asks for them, go to the age-check provider and are never stored by us.

Your voice and what you say

While you're on a call, your voice is streamed to our AI provider so the character can hear you and reply. We don't record or store the audio. What you say is also turned into text and checked line by line by our safety system. Apart from the memory notes, the last-lines buffer and the safety log described above, the conversation isn't kept.

Sensitive data and consent

What you say on a call can reveal your sex life or sexual orientation, which the law treats as sensitive. We only process it with your explicit consent, which you give when you create your account. You can withdraw it at any time by closing your account or deleting your memories; this doesn't affect what we did before.

Our legal bases

Automated safety decisions

Our safety system can end a call and pause your account without a person deciding first, for example if a caller says they're under 18 or talks about harming someone. This protects callers and keeps the service lawful. Every pause is reviewed by a person; you can ask for that review, explain your side and contest the decision by writing to support@latecall.app.

Who we share it with

Only with the companies that run parts of Late Call for us, under contracts that limit what they can do with your data:

Some of these are outside the European Economic Area, including in the USA. Where data leaves the EEA we rely on adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms. We may also share data when the law requires it, for example reports of child sexual abuse material or credible threats to someone's life.

Cookies and visit counts

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. You can delete character memories yourself in your account. Write to privacy@latecall.app from the email on your account and we'll answer within one month. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored only as salted hashes, the servers accept logins by key only, and access to account data is limited to the people who need it to run Late Call.

Under 18s

Late Call is not for anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has used it, we close the account and delete their data, except what we must keep to protect children or meet legal duties.

Changes

We may update this policy at any time. The latest version is always on this page, and we may also tell you about changes by email or on the site.
